Jessica Prince: Optional Team Coach, River City Academy Director
Jessica started taking tumbling and dance when she was 8 and was a competitive cheerleader for 5 years. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Math Education from University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and taught math for 9 years at Center Hill Middle School in Olive Branch, MS before becoming our Academy Director. After coaching gymnastics and cheer in Mississippi for over 20 years, she joined the River City Staff in 2013. Jessica has 2 children. She has a dedication to our program and a passion for the sport that is apparent in her perseverance towards success.
All River City Gymnastics instructors are USA Gymnastics Members with current Safety Certifications and Background checks. Below are a few staff bios.
Erica Anderson: General Manager, Non-profit President, Team Director, Meet Director
Erica was a River City gymnast from age 6-17. After competing level 10 for 4 years and attending the University of Memphis, she has coached competitive teams for 20 years. She has 3 children. Maddux, 13, who plays football, Madden, 11, who is a level 8 competitive gymnast, and Marlee, 6, who is in our TOPs program. Erica is the Meet Director for all the competitive meets that we host and is also the GK Elite Sportswear Sales Rep. for the state of Tennessee.
Gus VanDerVoort: Owner
Gus received a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Memphis where he was a member of the gymnastics team. He opened River City Gymnastics in 1987. Since then, his program has had enormous growth and accomplishments. Gus is an avid CrossFitter. After a heart attack that almost took his life, he just qualified for the CrossFit Games.
Keno Anderson: General Manager & Strength & Conditioning Director, Optional Team Coach
Keno received a Bachelors Degree in Marketing Management from The University of Memphis. After originally signing for football and baseball, he chose to focus on baseball where he was a scholarship athlete and Conference USA Honor roll recipient. After his athletic career he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for D1 Sports Training and contracted thru Briarcrest Christian School, where his primary focus was developing the strength and speed performance of high school, college, and professional athletes. Keno is a devoted father to 3 children and is passionate about training athletes to success.
Mariah Marlowe: Xcel Team Director
Mollie Jane Williams: Compulsory Team Director and River City Academy Teacher
MJ attained a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and Middle Grades Education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Prior to college, MJ was a level10 gymnast. She was also a dedicated leader at UTC and president of her sorority, Panhellenic Women of the Year assisting in raising money for Erlanger Children's Hospital. Her experienced leadership qualities and background in gymnastics make her a great roll model and coach for our gymnasts.
